When installed in the drive, the 531X111PSHABG1 card acts as the motor field control and power board. The device was originally manufactured by General Electric for its 531X series replacement board. The cards developed for this series are suitable for installation into many GE branded drives or exciters. When the board is installed, it provides the necessary power needed to drive. This particular unit is a G1 version of the board, with an AC line moving to mount to the board itself.

The main function of the 531X111PSHABG1 card is to provide the power required for the operation of the drive. From this card, the drive can draw rated voltages of 5 VDC, 15 VDC, and 24 VDC. A power supply using a board-integrated pulse transformer is also provided for the driver's field circuit. The card also has many onboard options to enhance the user experience. There are three relays built into the board to perform system control options. Five jumpers also allow users to adjust and fix feedback and current signals. The circuit board consists of three potentiometers. These allow the user to calibrate and adjust the current and circuit feedback as needed.
