The IS200ACLEH1A is a GE application control layer module used in the EX2100 excitation system. Before upgrading to the higher level IS215, the IS200 version of ACLE is the base level board, not the IS215. The IS200ACLEH1A, commonly referred to as the ACLE, is a microprocessor-based master controller designed to perform multiple jobs simultaneously over an Ethernet communication network. All software and configuration tasks for the IS200ACLEH1A require the use of the GE Control System Toolbox for EX2100 excitation system control.

The IS200ACLEH1A has a wide panel with the manufacturer's logo and board number printed on it. Because of this wide panel, the module occupies two slots in the EX2100 excitation control system rack. The board component of the IS200ACLEH1A also has a board number and GE identifier. It has the code 6BA01 printed along one edge of the PCB. Onboard components are often identified by reference marks in General Electric manuals such as GEI-100584A.

The IS200ACLEH1A has several board connectors, including a vertical male pin connector located in the upper right corner, a backplane connector located on the back edge of the board, and a multi-pin ribbon cable connector. The strip connector is connected to the auxiliary plate, which takes up most of the middle of the board. This auxiliary board has many components, including multiple pin connectors and integrated circuits. The motherboard also has an IDE to SATA converter that can hold 128 MB cards.

The ACLE module of the panel has an easily identifiable status led. These status leds include :OK(watchdog timer enabled), Active(microprocessor access memory), ENET(Ethernet activity), and FLASH(flash write operation in progress).
