The SR489-CASE is a companion case for the generator management relay in the GE Multilin 489 series. In this case there is a complete extraction (automatic CT short circuit), sealing device and dust door. The IP level in this case is IP10A. The unit can be mounted on a 19-inch rack or mounted on a panel. You must be prepared for the front door to open automatically without interference from adjacent devices. Applying firm pressure on the front to ensure the front bezel is snappable against the front of the panel, bend a pair of retention tabs (to a horizontal position) from each side of the case. Once the case is installed with the relay, it is ready for panel wiring.

Why doesn't this box fit in?

If one does not match the case, attempting to install a mechanical key will not allow the unit to get fully inserted into the unit. Do not force it open, or you may damage the mechanical key.

How do I remove the device from the case?

First, pull the top right or bottom right corner to open the lid, hinge on the left. Then position under the handle, release the locking handle, and press up with the screwdriver. Grab the handle and push up until it stops moving up. Finally pull the device out of the housing and it should slide out freely.
