The Relay 489-P5-LO-A20-T is one of the few models in the 489 generator management relay family, which is equipped with an enhanced display with 10Base-T Ethernet connectivity. Since it is one of the few such connection types, there are special wiring specifications. Note that when this relay is installed in the case and must be removed, the RJ45 connector on the device must be disconnected to prevent any damage from occurring. Be careful when you plug the relay into the case, and make sure the Ethernet cable has enough space so that it won't get caught when sliding the relay back into the case. If the cable is caught, it can not only damage the cable, but also interfere with the terminal block in case of proper insertion.

A wide variety of terminal types are available on 489-P5-LO-A20-T relays. Some terminals and their descriptions are as follows, G10 HGF grounded CT, D02 RTD #7 compensation, E01 1 stroke NC, F12 IRIG-B - and so on. A complete comprehensive list of all terminals associated with this relay can be found on page 8 of Chapter 3 of the GEH-10649N 489 Generator Operator's Manual. When looking at the panel of this relay, notice that there are three different sets of LED indicators. The three groups on the 489-P5-LO-A20-T relay are the status of model 489, the output status, and the status of the connected generator. A comprehensive list of all leds and their features will be found under the heading 4.1.2 of Chapter IV of the above manual.
