The quad-core 1.6GHz AMD v1000 series processor controller IS420UCSDH1A is part of the Mark VIe series produced by General Electric. This particular controller is labeled a Mark VIe controller, making it similar to, if not nearly identical to, a UCSC controller. Since both controllers are Mark VIe quad-core controllers, this indicates that the UCSD controller is also equipped with the QNX Neutrino real-time multitasking operating system with real-time hypervisor technology. These applications allow the IS420UCSDH1A controller to operate highly reliable, high-speed industrial applications. Through these applications, controllers are also able to apply Predix cloud-based applications and embedded field agent technology to transfer real-time data through secure web applications.

The IS420UCSDH1A controller equipped with IONet can run many applications and firmware from the Mark VIe family, note that while IONet is used for different applications, it can only support Mark control I/O packages and controllers. When the controller uses the IONet interface, external data can be transferred to or from the system database.

Since the controller is similar to a UCSC controller, it can be used with the ControlST V07.01 software and can be used in TMR(three-mode redundancy) simplex and dual-redundancy applications. The controller also has features supported by three platform configurations, which are EFA, embedded PPNG, and Embedded EtherCAT configurations. The IS420UCSDH1A controller has six Ethernet ports, five of which are on the front panel and one of which is on the bottom, allowing Predix connectivity.
