The is420ucshbh3a controller is another version of the Mark VIe series of UCSB controllers produced by General Electric. The controller is described as a Mark VIe or MarkStat controller in the GEH-6725 Mark VIe and Mark VIe Control Device HazLoc Directive Guidelines. The device uses the 1200mhz Intel EP80579 microprocessor. The controller is very similar to the UCSC controller in the Mark VIe series, and while the two controllers have different hardware forms, the software forms on both controllers are almost identical. Some of the advantages of such a controller are the lack of batteries and fans and the lack of required jumper Settings.

The is420ucshbh3a controller has a variety of leds on the front board, including:

OT displays amber when internal components have exceeded the recommended limit

ON indicates the status of the recovery process

When the controller is selected as the design controller, the DC displays a solid green LED

ONL, when the controller is online and running the application code, it will appear green

All of the leds listed above are used to indicate controller status, and information on these leds can be found in Chapter VIII of the System Guide for Labeled VIeS Functional Safety Systems in volume GEH-6855 I, especially on pages 159 and 160.

The controller also has the site-specific certifications and standards required for reliable operation. When installed in Class I, Division 2, Group A, B, C, or D, is420ucshbh3a controllers require ANSI/ISA-12.12.01-2015 or CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 213-15 standards.
