To manage and protect three-phase motors, GE Multilin's 369-HI-R-0-0-0-0-0-0 learns the unique parameters of the motor system and adjusts accordingly. As part of the Multilin 369 series, this version of the relay includes optional 12 built-in RTD ports, which are 3-wire and consist of 100 Ω platinum, 100 Ω nickel, 120 Ω nickel, and 10 Ω copper. Resistance temperature detectors (RTDS) should be used with shielded cables to prevent noise in industrial environments. The RTD provides bearing, stator, and ambient temperature protection, and can be used to determine the heat capacity (TCU) through calculations based on the RTD bias curve.
369-HI-R-0-0-0-0 Extends motor life by providing early warning of problems occurring within the system. For example, a drop in motor current load detected by the relay system monitoring function may point to a broken conveyor belt, a loss of airflow in the cooling unit, or a loss of pump suction; Users can solve these problems before they become more serious. In addition, a fast motor shutdown that starts under overload conditions reduces damage to bearings, gears and various other mechanical components.
The motor information collected by 369-HI-R-0-0-0-0-0-0 can be viewed on the relay's 40-character LCD display or, more conveniently, through a computer running Multilin's EnerVista 369 software. After connecting the computer to an RS232 port on the front of the relay or an RS485 port on the back of the relay, users can easily monitor motor status, maintain relay functions or trends, and integrate data into system programming. Basic troubleshooting tools also enable users to solve problems in the system and adjust parameters as needed.
