The Genius IC670GBI002 interface is a 24-volt DC Bus interface unit (BIU) manufactured by GE Fanuc as part of the Field Control family. BIU helps connect field control I/O modules to a PC or host PLC via the Genius bus. It can exchange up to 128 bytes of input data and 128 bytes of output data per bus scan. The Genius IC670GBI002 BIU is the centerpiece of GE's field control family, as it offers features such as I/O scanning, intelligent processing, and eight I/O module function configurations. BIU and its modules constitute the field control system and workstation. In general, the series has many advantages and features, including longer uptime, low cost, functional flexibility, DIN rail mounting, distributed I/O, and installation and maintenance. Other features include minimal spare parts requirements, less cabling, and an open architecture for a variety of networks.
The GE Fanuc IC670GBI002 bus interface unit has BUI terminals and supports the connection of single and dual communication cables or power cables.
