The IS220PSCAH1A I/O package is used for serial Modbus communication. The kit is designed for General Electric's Mark VIeS control system. When used with this suite, it can provide an interface between up to two input-output Ethernet networks and a serial communication board. The board features six individually configurable serial transceiver channels that can be used with RS485 half-duplex, RS232 and RS422 standards. The input needed to power the PSCA battery pack is sent via a three-pin power input and dual RJ45 Ethernet connector.

There is a serial Modbus master service on the IS220PSCAH1A package, which has many different features, some of which are as follows:

Data bits: 7, 8

32-bit data word sort

Parity check: even, none, and odd

Station address

These functions are used for the six configurable ports on the PSCA package. This can be done at the port level. With PSCA, two Ethernet ports on the suite can be used to help support the Ethernet Modbus master protocol; Note that this configuration only occurs when used on a simplex network.
