The GE/Bently Nevada 3500/15 series power supply is a half-height module that must be installed in a specially designed slot on the left side of the rack. The 3500 rack can contain one or two power supplies (any combination of AC and/or DC), either of which can power the entire rack. If installed, the second power supply acts as a backup to the main power supply. When two power supplies are installed in a rack, the power supply in the lower slot acts as the primary power supply and the power supply in the upper slot acts as the backup power supply. As long as a second power supply is installed, removing or inserting either power module will not interrupt the operation of the rack.

The 3500 power supply accepts a variety of input voltages and converts them to voltages acceptable to other 3500 modules. The 3500 Series mechanical protection system is available in three power supply versions as follows: 1. Ac power, 2. High voltage DC power supply 3. Low voltage DC power supply.
