The GE/Bently Nevada 3000 and 7000 series proximity sensor systems are ideal for measuring radial vibration and thrust position motion on machines that require only a linear range of 40 to 50 mils. The 7200 Series proximity probe works in the same way as the Bentley Nevada 3000 Series proximity probe, with no moving parts. They are not subject to the mechanical wear that occurs on other types of sensors, such as shaft mounts, linear variable differential transformers (LVDTS), and potentiometers. The 3000 and 7000 series proximity sensors are not available for API 670 type installations.
The 3000 and 7000 series proximity sensor systems provide vibration and position information for diagnosis and monitoring. You can obtain measurements of vibration amplitude, frequency, phase Angle, and other rotor characteristics to determine specific machine faults. The typical response of 0 Hz to 10 kHz allows you to measure static shaft position and dynamic motion. The 3000 Series sensor system uses 190 or 300 probes. The 7000 Series sensor system uses 300 probes. Each sensor system consists of an approach probe, an extension cable, and an approximator. All 3000 and 7000 series sensor systems can be combined with 7200 series and 9000 series monitoring systems.
