The GE/Bently 3300 XL 5/8mm proximity sensor is compatible with all 5 and 8mm 3300 and 3300 XL probes. The 3300 XL proximity sensor features a number of improvements over previous designs. Its physical packaging allows you to use it in high-density DINrail installations. You can also mount the sensor in a traditional panel mount configuration, which shares the same 4-hole mount "dimensions" as the older Proximitor sensor design. The mounting base of either option provides electrical isolation without the need for a separate isolation plate.

The Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm proximity sensor system consists of a 3300 XL 8mm probe, a 3300 XL extension cable, and a 3300 XL proximity sensor. The system provides an output voltage that is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface, allowing both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values to be measured. The main applications of the system are fluid film vibration and position measurement bearing machines, as well as bond phase reference and velocity measurement. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity sensor systems offer this level of performance and support full interchangeability of the probe, extension cable and Proximitor sensors without the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.

Each 3300 XL 8 mm sensor system component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm sensor system components. This compatibility includes 3300 5 mm probes for applications where 8 mm probes are too large for the available mounting space.
