The GE/Bently Nevada 3500/42 Series proximity/seismic monitor module is a four-channel monitor that accepts input from both proximity and seismic sensors and uses this input to drive alarms. The monitor can be programmed with 3500 rack configuration software to perform any of the following functions: radial vibration, thrust position, eccentricity, differential expansion, acceleration, and speed. The monitor can receive input from several types of sensors, including the following Bentley Nevada sensors: proximity sensors, acceleration, and speed.

The primary purpose of the 3500/42 monitor is to 1) provide mechanical protection by continuously comparing the current machine vibration to the configured alarm setpoint by driving the alarm, and 2) provide the necessary machine vibration information to operators and maintenance personnel. Configure alarm setpoints using 3500 rack configuration software. An alarm setting value can be configured for each valid proportion value, and a hazard setting value can be configured for two valid proportion values.
