The 3500/92 Communication Gateway module provides a wide range of all rack monitoring values and status communication capabilities with process control and other automation systems using both integrated Ethernet TCP/IP and serial (RS232/RS422/RS485) communication capabilities. It also allows Ethernet communication with 3500 rack configuration software as well as data acquisition software. Supported protocols include:

•Modicon®Modbus® protocol (via serial communication)Modbus/TCP protocol (variant of serial Modbus for TCP/IP) Ethernet communication)

• The proprietary Bently Nevada protocol (used to communicate configuration and data acquisition packages with 3500 Rack) to the 3500/92 Ethernet connection is a 10BASE-T star RJ45 connection configuration Ethernet network.

The 3500/92 supports communication interfaces, communication protocols, and other functions of the 3500/90 original besides the main function value Modbus register. 3500/92 now has a configurable Modbus register method that originally handles the same function as the Modbus register's primary value.
